Over 50 years ago, in April 1972, M-System was founded in Osaka, Japan by Mr. Shigeru Miyamichi. He started with the production of signal transmitters and lightning protection devices. In the mid-eighties, electric actuators were added. Additional sales offices were opened in various parts of Japan. Since 1997 M-System has been certified according to ISO 9001. In 2005, ISO 14001 was also added.
In the following years, further product groups such as paperless recorders, remote I/O modules, PID controllers, tower light, bargraph indicators and process meters were added.
Early in the company's history, quality, availability and reliability were very important. Even after half a century, the continued product availability and the high quality and fast delivery of M-System products are the core philosophy of the company, which has strong roots in Japan. And that with 3,000 units produced daily.
The business results and milestones achieved over the past decades are a direct result of M-System's relentless focus on its corporate philosophy.

Our technology
Contribution to future designs and automation achievements to date
For about 50 years, M-System has been supplying interfacing component devices in the fields of PA/FA/BA. The company’s expertise is a collection of elements that cannot be achieved with digital circuits alone. It includes analog circuit technology, high-voltage isolation technology, and low-consumption and low-noise power supply design.
In recent years, it has been required various field network technologies, miniaturization, and specialization in the FA field, and the synergy of analog and digital technologies has been creating new products. At the same time, the semiconductor production equipment market has been experiencing and increasing demand for the production of the previous generation of equipment, which requires continuity in factory production. In the BA field, we are contributing to carbon neutrality by creating convenient and environmentally friendly products with next-generation network technology.
What M-System makes different
Continuity
Own test facilities
High-Mix, Low-Volume
Electronic components are evolving rapidly and becoming smaller and more powerful. Most companies then discontinue the series with the older components and develop new models.
M-System, however, chooses a different solution. In order to adapt to the discontinuation of components, we develop a new product with the same functions using a new generation of state-of-the-art components and continue to supply the same model without discontinuing it.
As a result of these efforts, we now have 3,841 models, without counting the variations of each model. In 2018, for example, about 2,500 models were affected by discontinuation of parts. There were 16,734 cases of design changes.
EMC countermeasures form the basis for dealing with electromagnetic radiation. These countermeasures must be considered at the product design and development stage.
While many equipment manufacturers rely on public testing facilities to verify their products' compliance with the mandatory European CE marking program, M-System has its own anechoic chamber and shielded room at the Kyoto Techno Center to accelerate new product development.
M-System also has a vibration test system combined with temperature and humidity conditioning and many other test equipment to perform the required evaluation tests continuously and quickly.
Computer-integrated, flexible manufacturing systems for high-mix, low-volume production.
M-System's original "High-Mix, Low-Volume" production system realizes more than one-third of the total shipment of thirty thousand signal transmitters and I/O modules with customized combinations each month. The flexibility with this system for small order quantities of devices with specific features is unmatched!
This computer-controlled production system eliminates human error sources as far as possible and ensures high productivity and reliability.
«M-System Co., Ltd. will continue supplying convenient and reasonably priced products for various types of automation. We are also determined to play a role in the next generation as a cornerstone of Japanese economy to the best of our ability by developing and supplying products that can promote Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).»
